Our Story
Bee Friendly Gardens began with a simple idea: to bring the principles of ecosystem restoration out of the bush and into our own backyards.
After years of working in environmental restoration, we saw how much potential there was to create thriving, balanced ecosystems right here in the suburbs — gardens that support native bees, birds, and butterflies, while giving people a deeper connection to nature in their everyday lives.
Based on the Gold Coast, we specialise in garden maintenance and native garden makeovers that work with nature, not against it. Our goal is to care for and rejuvenate gardens in a way that enhances biodiversity, encourages healthy soil, and creates sustainable, low-maintenance landscapes. We believe that healthy gardens support healthy communities.

Meet The Team
Gardener
Stephen Drew
Hi, I’m Stephen — the gardener behind Bee Friendly Gardens.
My background is in Environmental Design, and I’ve spent over five years working as an Ecological Restoration Practitioner with Gold Coast City Council and private landholders, helping bring life back to natural landscapes across South East Queensland. I’ve also volunteered in environmental programs with Friends of Nerang National Park and Lady Elliot Island Eco-Resort, where I learned just how powerful small, consistent actions can be in restoring balance to the environment.
Now, I bring that same care and ecological understanding into the gardens I maintain and transform. Whether it’s a regular garden maintenance service, a garden makeover, or a full native garden transformation, my focus is always on creating outdoor spaces that are functional, beautiful, and meaningful — for you and for the local wildlife that calls your garden home.
